ACDFA Getaway

I just came from ACDFA( American College Dance Festival Association) a day ago and it was sooooooo AWESOME!!!!!! I met some pretty cool people and learned so much about myself. It was such a blessing to be able to experience it. I went with some students from the dance department and it lasted from March 25-March 28 so we had about 4 days of dance classes and showings and the last day several dances were chosen to be apart of the gala.
There are the classes I took along with the showing times( BTW there were like a hundred plus classes to choose from)

Mon March 25, 2013

1:00 pm - 2:30 pm: Latin Dance with Luis Martinez( we learned some steps from the bachata and meringue)
3:00 pm - 4:30 pm: Middle Eastern Dance with Nabila Nazem( Belly Dancing)
8:00 pm- 10:00 pm: Showing

2:00 pm- 4:00 pm: Showing
4:15 pm- 5:45 pm: Body Percussion with Tigger Benford ( Sort of like Step. Tigger is actually an percussionist so it was a really cool class( Plus his name is like WOW-WAM in yo face) . We did some rhythms with our voice and with out hands and bodied. So we made music with our bodies and used different counts and rhythms.)
8:00 pm- 10:00 pm: Showing

Thu March 28, 2013

9:00 am - 10:30 pm: Jazz with Julie Johnson( Warm Up, Jazz technique and movements, Jazz combination that was tons of fun to do )
11:00 am- 12:30 pm: Lindy Hop with Tony Fraser( We learned basic , Steps and Turns and Lifts and footwork of the Lindy Hop. Plus Tony Faiser is so AWESOME. Such a cool dude. Such an inspiration way to end ACDFA. I was very inspired and open to the idea in perusing Swing Dancing, Salsa or Ballroom Dance when i get out of college. It is an AMAZING option for me.
2:00 pm- 4:00 pm: Gala
4:00 pm- whenever: Reception

This week like i said was just AWESOME. I learned about how i choreograph and move, about partner work, about what training  need to do about what i may want to do when i graduate in May 2013 with my Theater and Dance Degree, etc. I am also more motivated to keep dong what i love doing! Thank you God for such and wonderful blessing <3

BTW Have you ever seen a movie in which someone in a school cafeteria pulls out a boom box and the student turns on the music and begins dancing,Then a crowd wraps around that area and other students go to the center of that circle showing the crowd what they've got?

Well Yeah Uh huh i experienced that... AWWWEEEESSSOOOMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! A Movie Experience. Ha-ha.
